Townhill and Ludlow children were asked to think about the vulnerable and elderly people, who due to lockdown, would be feeling isolated and lonely.
We asked parents and staff to nominate those who they know, who would like to receive some letters and artwork from the children to raise spirits.
The children wrote letters, made rainbows, painted pictures, wrote messages, and printed pictures to send to those who were nominated. Between the 2 schools we have posted out 135 envelopes to vulnerable and elderly people across the whole of the UK and to 5 local care home. Each envelope contained 4 or 5 pieces from the children. We have begun to receive thank you cards and notes from some of those nominated.
The children have loved seeing the messages of thanks and enjoyed doing things for others.
